Extra Curricular Activities

Ballinameen National School engages in many different types of extra-curricular activities. This includes staff-lead extra-curricular and outside agency extra-curricular. Some of the different activities to take place at the school include:

First – Sixth class get the chance to do computer lessons twice a year at the school. There is a cost for parents associated with these lessons. Students learn valuable skills of ICT including typing, editing, coding and researching.

Both Gaelic Football and Hurling/Camoige are coached as extra-curricular activities in the school.

We are lucky to have a soccer coach come to the school to work on the skills of football with students.

We take part in swimming lessons in Carrick on Shannon Pool – there is a cost for parents associated with Swimming.

The County Roscommon Library Bus comes to visit the school twice/three times a year to give the students to take out a book on loan.

Every second year we put on a show in the local community centre.

Many other activities including: cycling workshops, dance, gymnastics, tag rugby and many more.
